What this building is
Fuse Lofts is a soft loft at 1410-1420 Dupont Street, in Wallace Emerson. It was purpose-built as housing in 2017, not converted from an earlier use. The catalogue records 575 units.
Purpose-built in the loft idiom: open plans, tall windows and exposed services, but new construction rather than a conversion.
Fuse Condos is a two-tower residential development at 1410 to 1420 Dupont Street, on the northwest corner of Dupont Street and Lansdowne Avenue. The east tower rises 27 storeys and the west tower 23 storeys, with a combined 576 suites, including loft units in the podium. The project formed the third and fourth phases of Davenport Village, a master-planned community on former industrial land, following the Electric City and Upside Down condominiums.
The site included a brick warehouse along Dupont Street, which was restored and incorporated into the base of the development. A section of the warehouse along Lansdowne Avenue that was taken down during the first phase was rebuilt, and original bricks from it were reused on the building bases up to five storeys. Above the brick base, the towers are clad in light-toned precast concrete panels, window wall and glazed balconies. The developer was Neudorfer Corporation, working with Channington Developments, and the architect was Barrett Architect Inc., with Burka Architects also credited and TMG Builders as builder. Construction of the east tower was under way in early 2015, and full delivery was scheduled for the fall of 2016.
The 47 Lansdowne bus runs south along Lansdowne Avenue to Lansdowne station on Line 2, and the 26 Dupont bus runs along Dupont Street.
